In one post on Reddit I found mention about Retire Your Ride, and posted my information on their site. Very positive experience with Retire Your Ride. We had a 17 year old car that we no longer needed. It was still driveable but we didn't want the hassle of trying to sell it privately, and had no idea how to dispose of it otherwise. Came across retire my ride on a reddit thread and decided to give it a try. The whole process was so easy, quick and convenient, and the amount of money received for the car exceeded my expectations. Got my 25 yo car towed away for scrap 15 minutes ago. Using Retire Your Rid, the process was so simple - Fill out online form, wait for a bid, accept the bid, bidder called to arrange pickup date/time, tow truck arrived with exact cash in hand that was offered in the bid. To start positively, everyone who I spoke with on the phone was very friendly and professional. Once I identified the problems they were quickly rectified. That being said, when my bid was accepted, I was supposed to be contacted in 5 business days for pick-up. I was not contacted and needed to reach out myself to arrange a pickup date which was a window between Monday-Friday. They arrived Friday to pick up the vehicle when I was not home therefore I was told that I would be contacted to set up an etransfer for payment. After 2 weeks I was still not contacted and I again had to reach out to arrange for payment. Once I connected with the right person, payment was very timely with no other problems. The service would have definitely benefited from better communication, but overall I was satisfied.

I've used retire your ride to sell several old vehicles. It's always been fast, straightforward and fair. I would use them again.

I had a vehicle that was inspected in the fall and the repairs were well over $10000. I decided for a 16 year old rav that it was best to let it go. I could buy a second hand one cheaper for what I needed at the moment. this is the best option when trying to retire a vehicle. You could try selling it on your own but it could be weeks or months sitting on your property and depreciating in value. I know who bought the vehicle still had a good vehicle for parts so I was happy to let it go.

The contractor tow truck company did more than just show up on time. He was even early and unscrewed the license plate cover and plates for me. That is great customer service. The tow truck driver deserves an appreciation certificate for public display back at the office. The cheque hand off and ownership paper exchange was smooth and efficient. I had used Retire My Ride two times, for two vehicles.

Process went well. Made an offer on my old Q45 showed up on time with a flat bed handed me a cheque for the full amount 10 minutes later they were gone the cheque cleared the credit union .. ....thanks for making it easy.

Experience was great! I got my bid within a week and once I accepted, I was contacted within a couple days to schedule a time for pickup, at my convenience. Everything went as planned. On the day of the tow truck driver was friendly and professional. Once paperwork was signed I was given my cash. It was very easy, the whole took maybe 15 mins. I would recommend to a friend!

I was pleasantly surprised with how seamless this entire process was. Before now I had been trying to sell/scrap my vehicle and had encountered some shady operators but Retire Your Ride were professional, efficient & offered a fair price for my vehicle. In fact, their bid of $1450 was over 100% higher than any other bid received from a reputable car recycler. After filling in a relatively short online form I received confirmation that a bid process had commenced and I would be informed of the highest offer in due course. Within 2 days, the highest bid was presented to me & once I accepted the car recycling company reached out to schedule pickup. Upon pickup, I was presented with bill of sale & cheque for the value promised & in return I provided the buyer with ownership papers & ID to as proof of ownership. The entire handover process took 5 minutes tops. Overall, this was a really positive experience and my only regret was that I hadn’t come upon Retire my Ride sooner.

This was a very simple and quick way for me to find someone who wanted to take my end-of-its-life car off my hands with a reasonable payment. About a week from posting to pickup. The car, which could not be driven, was parked in an awkward location, but the tow truck driver who was dispatched to pick it up was not fazed, and knew how to get it out. I am hopeful that as much of the vehicle as possible finds its way into the recycling stream...

My brother recommended this service after he scrapped his old car. The process was easy to submit my car's information for auction and they responded with a bid within the expected timeframe. I wasn't present when the auto recycler picked up my car as I had already moved; however, there was no issue for it to be picked up from a third party.
